Disney Twisted-Wonderland: Ep 6 ‘An Army of One’
Finally, things are starting to heat up again! At HeartsLabyul’s unbirthday party, Ace tries to play nice with Riddle and gives him the chestnut tart as an apology. Unfortunately for him (and coming as a surprise to probably no one watching the show) there is a rule dictating what can…

Disney Twisted-Wonderland: Ep 4 ‘A Desperate Heart’
Ask and you shall receive … It certainly felt that way with this episode. I just mentioned in my last recap about how narrow the focus has been so far and now we are suddenly introduced to a whole host of new characters, albeit still with a disproportionate focus on…

The Apothecary Diaries S2E43 ‘Festival’
Maomao’s still a hostage but it feels more like a technicality at this point since she pretty much has free run of the village. Is that because there’s nowhere for her to run? Or because Shisui has a soft spot for her? She even finally gets her hands on Suiren’s…

This is it – the episode where everything, all the various story threads and seemingly minor characters come together in one major storyline that will take up the rest of the season. I’ve seen the episode a couple of times and it gives me a thrill every time when I…

Disney Twisted-Wonderland: Ep 2 ‘A Dismissive Ranking’
We continue where we left off in the last episode with Riddle gearing up to punish Yu for his perceived role in the whole opening ceremony fiasco. However, they get distracted by the Magic Mirror stepping in (figuratively speaking) to confirm that Yu has no magic. Even more perplexing, when…

Disney Twisted-Wonderland: Ep 1 ‘Stranger Waking’
Phew…that’s quite a mouthful of a title. The animation is based on a Japanese mobile game co-created by Disney and Aniplex. Hence the tongue twister of a name. Wordiness aside however, the concept teased in the trailer was intriguing enough that I decided to give it a watch. Now I…

The Apothecary Diaries S2 Eps 37-39: The Baths/ The Dancing Ghost/ Ice
A lighter set of episodes before we start off on the final story arc for the season, although as usual for the series, there are some hints scattered throughout further laying the ground for the final set of episodes. It opens up with Xiaolan looking for a job opening since…
